About me:
Hello my name is Stoney. I am a 35 year old paraplegic man who lives in Simi Valley California. I was born in North Carolina and at the age of 3 I was in a car accident along with my mother. I was a stubborn kid and probably still am a little bit now. I had squirmed out of my seatbelt, ignoring my mothers plea to sit down and put my seatbelt on. We were crossing a middle divider when I looked at my mother and saw a look of horror on her face as the car was suddenly engulfed in a bright light, and my mom saying oh my GOD! Then after that from what my mother has told me that the other car had hit my side and had ran over the front of the car and had flipped over. Our car had caught on fire and eyewitnesses had pulled my mom out but a man who was trying to get me out was afraid to move me because I was crammed under the dashboard. When he pulled me out they thought I was dead because my neck was bent so far back they thought it was broken! Apparently not. I remember waking up in a room with a red light and my mom and a black man I assume from the marines because he had on a blue uniform with allot of medals. He took one of his medals off and proceeded to give it to me and told my mom that I was blessed by the heavens above and said to me that I was a SOLDIER, a FIGHTER, and a WARRIOR! He told me that I would NEVER GIVE UP! To this day I have never given up. I have done battle with the Grim Reaper many times over my life so far. I feel a sense of urgency to do something with this life that GOD has blessed me with. I believe I am here for a purpose. One of my favorite quote comes from the movie Indecent Proposal when Woody Harrelson tells his class, that even a brick aspires to be something.
