deliciouscake's Scoop
About me:
Hey hey! I'm a hyperactive little Gemini who loves life and living it up! I am very affectionate with everyone I know, so don't be surprised if I give you a big hug the first time we meet! My favorite genres of music are Trance and EDM, and raving is my absolute favorite pastime... next getting naughty and smoking the bud :3 I'm silly, perverted, clueless, hyperactive, impractical, illogical, transparent, loveable, confused, indecisive, bitchy, idiotic, and contradictory

Interests:
My current love and obsession at this point in time is music. Everything about is seduces me into a state of mind where I am safe, where I am free, where I feel alive. Whether at a live show, with a DJ, or simply blasting from my car stereo as I fly down the freeway with the windows down, I let the music flood my veins and drown me in feelings of ecstacy, tasting true happiness for a short period of time. Music has saved me from myself, and drawn me to new light, where I can be happy, where I can be safe, and where I can expose my wounds to the sunlight without fear of pain.

Music:
I just love music in general. Unless it's country. Right now I'm really loving more punkish genres, and I have a new love: The Anytime. They are an awesome band with lots of talent and great personality! Show-em some love! I'm also getting into the Indy scene, with groups like The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, and the like :)
Movies:
Right now I'm really loving Star Trek. They did a marvolous job of re-creating the characters that still maintains their basic essence as characters, but laced with the subtle changes that come from the altercation of time. Kirk, for instance, in the original series, has a very formal way of speaking. In discussions with my friends, we conclude that this was a behavior he learned from his father. As in the story line of the movie, he never knew his father, he had no role model from which to learn formal speech, leading to his rougher, more lively speech patterns and word usage. However, as well as they created the characters, I still cannot quite get over the Spock/Uhura romance... those scenes where too awkward for words.
Books:
I just finished reading a beautiful book today. It's titled Burning, although I have yet to figure out the significance of this, as I don't recall anything within the book from which this title could stem. I love it for several reasons. For one, it is written mostly in the form of free-verse poetry, which is the most beautiful form of writing I know of. Secondly, I can sort of relate to the protagonist, although her situation is a lot worse than mine. Then again, physical scars fade. Emotional injuries stay with you a lot longer. But anyway, you can really feel the emotions of love, hurt, confusion, and pain the protagonist has as she grows from a sheltered, frightened girl into a strong, independent, beautiful woman who is full of love. Seriously, read it!
