Lilith, a female Mesopotamian storm demon associated with wind. She was thought to be a bearer of sickness and death.
In later folklore, “Lilith” is the name for Adams first wife.
Lilith appears as a night demon in Jewish lore and as a screech-owl in the King James Version of the Bible.
Isaiah 34:14-15
The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl shall also there, find for her a place of rest.
