Who I'd like to meet:
Sex is art. That’s the only way it can be described. It is a dance between bodies, movements brief, light, hard, rough, always done with meaning, intentional or not. Every touch of hands, brush of lips, embrace, coupling, is but a step in the dance itself, perfectly synced with the others’ movement. At its very core, sex is physical. Words are rarely used, replaced by moans, groans, or other primal sounds. And why speak? No language or dialect can offer the proper words for the act itself; heat, passion, lust, all are adjectives that fall far short of accurately describing sex. Something such as this is beyond words. Art is versatile, with many mediums to it. So is sex. It can range from making love, to fucking senselessly. It can be done naturally, with only bodies and their movements; it can incorporate toys, bondage, and numerous other instruments to spice up, improve, alter, make the act different each and every time. No two couplings are ever the same; each encounter is unique. It is something performed on its own stage, for either a vast audience of curious, lecherous watchers to view, or only for the walls to see. The stage varies; sometimes a bed, sometimes a car, sometimes a couch, table, floor, anywhere that the actors can perform. The thespians of sex have few lines, fewer cues; most of the work is improvisation, really. The actors can change; it could be a married couple, a pair of lovers, teens experimenting, the list goes on. The senior actors get through their production with relative ease; the newer thespians stumble through the lines or cues, and rarely give a long show. Still, each performance is something to admire for the beauty of it. But not all art is beautiful. Neither is sex. Sometimes the sex is rape. A body screaming, crying, clawing at the pain being inflicted upon it, unable to escape the nightmare. Or perhaps sex is performed between two people, one of whom is sick, and about to infect the other with an incurable disease. Maybe it’s a horrible experience, and regretted immediately by the poor fools who engaged in the act. Certain art is considered glorious by society, and the rest is rejected. Sex is the same. The bodies of homosexuals moving against one another is an abomination. Unmarried persons making love is an atrocity. Sharing a bed with one outside your race, religion, or social standing are all worthy of admonishment and shunning. Yet this art will not fade or vanish, despite the criticism made against it. It is beautiful, if misunderstood by some. Art can never be summed up properly, or fully understood by us. Sex itself has no true definition. Is it the coupling of bodies? Yes. An act we may go through to reproduce? Certainly. Something we can engage in to receive physical, and perhaps mental or emotional pleasure? Of course. But if that were all, why would we hold such a sweet fascination with it? What makes it so intriguing, so desirable, something we long for, for more than just bodily and emotional reasons? Why would we try to hide it away, to shame yet exalt the act of intercourse? For lack of a better phrase, what is it that makes sex so sexy to us? Sex mesmerizes, repulses, disturbs, and offends. It brings us joy, pain, love, shock, anger, euphoria, and above all, amazement. It changes and evolves as time goes on, never far from our minds or hearts. It expresses things that words cannot; it conveys a message no tongue can deliver. Sex is art. That’s all there is to it
