Once I began to walk,
I knew from with in
I was being tough to
be someone I am not.
The anguish of the ones
I love looking at me
with a blind eye.
Walking around in a confined
world as if each person was
a bar of contempt with
the scum of repugnance
upon their face.

Not having the freedom to
embrace the true essence

Knowing it will only poison
me from within to stay
in this skin.
Today I journey to peal away
each layer that is a false
picture of my substance.
To brake free from the imprisonment
of what never was.
